Welcome To Stone Pillar!
Story of Our Kansas Farm Winery
Johnson County's original farm winery Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery is located 15 minutes southwest of Kansas City. Owned and operated by the Hoffs', Kansas' oldest farm family whom have farmed this land since before the Civil War. In 2004 on vacation George Hoff toured a wine trail that his wife Brandi arranged at Niagara on the Lake. Among the luscious grain fields they were used to seeing in Kansas were beautiful family operated vineyards and wineries. The experience was an inspiration to begin a winery in Kansas where the Hoff family is deeply rooted on their historic farm. George along with his brother Frank, and cousin Thomas Jr. the fifth generation of Hoff men convinced Tom Sr. and wife Marcy that a winery would be a great way to keep the small acreage farm productive as the city swallowed up pastures and fields. The first vines were planted in 2007, and the winery opened for sales May 1st 2010. The family works closely with their own vines and their local growers to insure a high quality handpicked Kansas Wine. The Hoff’s welcome you to come visit during regular hours or at one of their many after-hours special events, Cheers!
